Clinical Neurology Specialists was founded in 1998 by Leo Germin, M.D., FAANEM, on a conviction that still defines the practice: Southern Nevada deserved university-grade neurological diagnosis without leaving the Valley. Dr. Germin had already practiced neurology in Las Vegas since 1996 — and he built CNS around the diagnostic laboratory, because everything that follows in neurology depends on getting the diagnosis right.
His path here was anything but ordinary. Dr. Germin earned his medical degree from Vilnius University in Lithuania and practiced internal medicine, anesthesiology, and hyperbaric medicine for a decade before immigrating to the United States. He then re-earned everything a new country requires: an internship at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, neurology residency through the WLAMC/UCLA Department of Neurology, and a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
Today, CNS is five board-certified neurologists and four advanced practice providers caring for adults across two Valley locations. The practice remains physician-owned and independent — the care decisions are made by the doctors who deliver them.

AANEM accreditation is a voluntary, peer-reviewed credential from the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine that reviews physician qualifications, equipment calibration, and study quality. Both CNS clinics — Las Vegas and Henderson — house electrodiagnostic laboratories that hold it.
Under Dr. Germin's direction, CNS became the first physician-owned outpatient electrodiagnostic laboratory in Nevada to earn the association's exemplary status. For a patient, an accredited study is one performed and interpreted to a standard a referring physician can act on with confidence — which often means fewer repeated tests and a clearer path from first visit to working diagnosis.

Ask About a Memory EvaluationBringing a parent or spouse in for a memory evaluation is an act of love — and we treat it that way. Many evaluations end in reassurance; others identify changes early enough for planning and care to matter most.
As an active research site, CNS can discuss biomarker-study participation with appropriate, interested patients. Participation is optional, and eligibility is reviewed individually during a memory evaluation.
